Description:

The incumbent manages the Annenberg Institute’s work with the Nellie Mae Education Foundation District Level Systems Change Initiative. Coordinates and supports research activities and the development of tools and materials in support of the Nellie Mae Technical Assistance grant. This position bridges the fields of community organizing, education research, philanthropy, and education policy. Success in this position results in effective, two-way communication between the Institute and Nellie Mae, as well as completion of the Institute requirements for the Nellie Mae Technical Assistance grant.

The position is located in our Providence office, but is part of the Community Organizing and Engagement program, which is based in our New York City office.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in the urban education reform or a related field.

  • Extensive experience in one or more of the following fields: community organizing, school reform, education policy, philanthropy, education research.

  • Extensive research and policy background in community engagement and youth development in urban settings.

  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills.

  • Recognized as an important voice in the field by funders, policy makers, and practitioners.

  • Ability to build and sustain partnerships that produce results in urban communities.

  • Ability to manage multiple related projects, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively within and across organizations.

  • Knowledge of school district reform philosophies and practices.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.

  • Experience working in partnership with low-income communities of color in New England.

Description:

The position implements, manages and documents research projects that include but are not limited to Rhode Island and the New England region. The local and regional work of the Institute is expanding, and this position is necessary to coordinate the work of project teams, serve as the primary contact for work scope definitions, research needs, and materials development for the work primarily across Rhode Island and New England. Success in this position requires effective research, data analysis, and writing and editing support for the Institute's local and regional research and development projects.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in educational research or policy.

  • Ability to manage multiple related projects, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively within and across organizations.

  • Knowledge of school district reform philosophies and practices.

  • Excellent research and writing skills.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to conduct data analysis.

  • Experience with project planning and research design.

  • Ability to organize time and meet deadlines.
