Community Engagement
CIP offers strategic support to community-based organizations, educators and funders interested in initiating school reform organizing or expanding local efforts to engage communities in public education reform. We have worked with Kentucky's Prichard Committee, and with grantees of the Annie E. Casey Foundation's Rebuilding Communities and Neighborhood Transformation and Family Development initiatives.
As part of the Carnegie Corporation's Schools for a New Society initiative, CIP assists advocacy groups, community-based organizations, and local education foundations, in developing parent and community engagement strategies in Boston, Providence and Chattanooga to accompany the redesign of large high schools into small learning communities.
