Building Smart Education Systems |
What is a Smart Education System?
Smart education systems create and sustain networks of services provided by schools, city agencies, community organizations, cultural institutions, and businesses to promote high-quality student learning and development wherever it occurs at school, at home, and in the community.
To be “smart,” the resulting system is nimble, adaptive, and efficient. It provides a range of supports to young people and families, depending on their needs.
A smart system requires partnerships among the school district, other city agencies, cultural institutions, community groups, and businesses. This kind of network what we call a smart education system aims to enable all a district's students to move from basic to proficient and beyond.
No school community in the country has, so far, completely realized this vision of a smart education system, but many urban communities have begun to build components. > See examples
