Welcome to AISR's blog, a new platform for sharing unique content that highlights our equity-based mission, our latest work, and that of our partners. We will be posting a wide range of content here – from opinion pieces to video links, stories from the field to Q&A’s with our staff and our partners. The blog gives us a chance to share knowledge and showcase important work in the field that isn’t always part of the mainstream narrative about urban education.
We have begun with two “AISR dispatches” from recent events, with staff reporting back on their experiences at Harvard’s Black Policy conference and the Community Schools National Forum. Upcoming posts include an excerpt from Warren Simmons' Wallace Foundation Lecture, delivered at this year’s American Educational Research Association conference.
We have some other exciting posts planned in the coming months, and hope you'll make a habit of visiting the blog and sharing it with your networks. It’s a great way to stay connected to AISR and our work to support equity in urban education.
Michael Grady is the deputy director of AISR and an assistant professor of practice in the Urban Education Policy master’s program at Brown University.
