Angela’s career focus has been on college readiness, access, and success for underserved youth. At AISR, through 2016 she leads Lumina Foundation’s Community Partnerships for Attainment through the Providence Children and Youth Cabinet, the city’s collective impact collaborative for improving education outcomes, and from 2013 to 2015 she led the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s College Readiness Indicator Systems project. Prior to joining AISR, she served as senior advisor on education to Providence mayor Angel Taveras. She also created and supported small high schools for disconnected youth through Diploma Plus; recruited and selected students as director of minority recruitment in the Brown University Admission Office; and taught high school math and science in Boston and New York. Angela holds an EdM in teaching and curriculum and a BS in biomedical engineering, both from Harvard University.
