Safety with Dignity: Alternatives to the Over-Policing of Schools

This report examines staffing and agency collaboration, discipline policies and practices, security polices and practices, and other school culture factors in six safety model schools and compares them to schools with punitive school safety and discipline measures. In coordination with the release of the study in July, a press conference was held at the Julia Richman Education Complex in Manhattan to draw public attention to the study findings and to highlight the successful school models.
